A Virginia wide receiver decided to stay in-state on Friday and commit to an ACC school.
Hezekiah Grimsley, a 6’0, 170-pound wide receiver from Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, Virginia announced that he would be staying in-state and committing to Virginia Tech.
He announced it over social media on Friday and chose the Hokies over schools like East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Hampton, Iowa State, Marshall, Maryland, Old Dominion, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh.
He was named 4A All-State wide receiver and displays a huge potential in a bog-play receiver. This past season, he helped Lafayette to a 12-1 overall record and competing in the 4A state quarterfinals. He had 38 receptions for 1,065 yards and 13 touchdowns as a wide receiver, averaging a 28 ypc this past season.
Grimsley is the 10th commitment for Virginia Tech in the 2017 class.
