The Virginia Tech Hokies had a great showing in their 55-17 win over Virginia in the 2023 edition of the Commonwealth Cup. Kyron Drones had an incredible game, with 244 passing yards on 10-22 passing with three touchdowns to go along with 50 yards rushing in the win. Bhayshul Tuten rushed for 117 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown and he returned a kickoff for a 94-yard touchdown for the Hokies while Da'Quan Felton caught 3 passes for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Hokies' defense held UVA to 256 total yards, sacked the quarterback 6 times and racked up 10 tackles for loss while forcing 2 Cavaliers' turnovers.
