A UNC point guard gives some important advice for a fellow Florida high school recruit.

Joel Berry helped the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team win their sixth national championship last April and was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player.

Now he may have another trick up his sleeve.

Berry might be helping the Tar Heels football program recruiting, on his own watch.

On Wednesday, one of UNC’s biggest football targets in their 2018 class, William Barnes, tweeted out that some big news is coming soon. The four-star offensive lineman could be set to make his decision and has the Tar heels as a finalist.

Barnes is out of Apopka, Florida which is the same home town of the point guard Berry who picked UNC as his college choice.

In response, Berry decided to let Barnes know that UNC is the right choice for him and he can make the same path as the point guard did, just in different sports.

Here’s what Berry responded:

The response generated a retweet from Barnes on his timeline and it has UNC fans pretty excited.

With Larry Fedora already building an impressive 2018 class for the Tar Heels, he could reel in another four-star prospect.

Barnes is listed as the fifth-best offensive tackle and the seventh-best player in the state of Florida this year.

The recruit has offers from North Carolina, Florida, Florida State and Alabama among other schools in his recruitment.

Is he set to decide soon? Stay tuned for more on UNC recruiting information.
