UNC sophomore Shea Rush shows off some new Player Edition Air Jordan 32 shoes that the Tar Heels will be sporting at some point this season.

Monday marks the first official day of practice for the North Carolina Tar Heels Basketball team as they look to repeat as national champions.

With the Tar Heels football program struggling, the basketball season has got here just in time.

UNC will return key starters Joel Berry and Theo Pinson from the 2016-17 national championship team. They also return key players such as Kenny Williams, Seventh Woods and Luke Maye among others while welcoming transfer Cameron Johnson and the their 2017 recruiting class.

With a new year comes new expectations for the Tar Heels team and it also comes with some new gear.

Last week, sophomore Shea Rush showed off some of that new gear when he tweeted out photos of special player edition colorways of the new Air Jordan 31 high and low.

The mid-version of the shoe is two-toned, dominated by both white and Carolina blue on the upper as well as the heel. The tongue features the Tar Heels logo as well as navy accents throughout.

As for the low version, it’s dominated with Carolina blue on the upper but white accents appear on the inner lining, Jumpman and the Tar Heels logo which also appears on the tongue.

Playing for the Tar Heels basketball program means players get some awesome PE’s of the newest Air Jordan shoes and this year is no different.

Now we just have to wait and see when these will make their first appearance on the court.
