Nassir Little reveals that the recent FBI investigation had nothing to do with him picking UNC.
The North Carolina Tar Heels received some big news a week ago when recruit Nassir Little announced he was committing to the program.
It gave head coach Roy Williams his first top 10 recruit since 2014 and added a key piece to UNC’s 2018 recruiting class.
Little now joins Rechon Black and Coby White as members of UNC’s 2018 class, with the possibility to add some more players.
His recruitment appeared to take a strange turn just two weeks ago when an FBI investigation says Little allegedly asked Arizona for money in his recruiting process. After Arizona was named in the report and assistant coach Emanuel Richardson’s involvement, Little eliminated the Wildcats form his recruitment.
Arizona was said to be the favorite in Little’s recruiting process but just days later he committed to UNC.
In Little’s video, it shows him talking to Roy just days before committing telling him he wanted to attend UNC.
Now Little is opening up about the FBI investigation.
While at the USA Basketball Junior Minicamp in Colorado Springs, Little talked to Scout’s Sean Moran to discuss his recruitment.
Little revealed that the FBI investigation had “very little” to do with his recruitment and cited UNC being an ACC school and close to home as reasons for picking the Tar Heels.

“The FBI had a little to do with it,” Little said. “After thinking about it, North Carolina was closer to home for me and in the ACC, you will be going against top teams every night and it is a really good conference. The guys from North Carolina, I’ve always watched North Carolina growing up, that’s been the team I’ve always watched so that comfortability was just a little different.”

The recent FBI investigation into college hoops has rocked the sport and impacted recruiting big time.
With this going to the courts and more information expected to be released over the next few weeks, it could continue to get ugly.
