Game Recap

Boston College easily dominated NJIT winning by a score of 89-32. The Eagles outplayed NJIT from start to finish and shot lights out from everywhere on the floor. More importantly for BC this marks the final non-conference game of the season.

BC begins ACC play with a lackluster 11-5 record. This is certainly a disappointing record for the team and they will have their work cut out for them in order to get back on the NCAA Tournament bubble. As it stands now BC's RPI is well in the 100s and they will need to pull off some big wins to make up for home losses against Maine, URI, and Harvard (not to mention St Joes and Northern Iowa).

I can't remember the last time Al Skinner's squad struggled this much early in the season, especially considering nearly the entire team returned. The injury to Sanders definitely disrupted the team's style of play but BC is still far too talented to have lost these games.

As we saw on numerous occasions last season almost anything can happen once conference play begins. The conference is more balanced this year than in past seasons and BC will be able to make a strong push if they can put the pieces together. The primary concern is defensive recognition, which Coach Skinner has stressed repeatedly in his post-game press conferences. This season is far from lost but the Eagles have sure dug themselves quite a hole. Now its time to bear down and make some adjustments.
