Pitt vs. West Virginia: The Panthers won the men's basketball edition of the Backyard Brawl by defeating the Mountaineers, 80-63. Pitt led by one at halftime, and then shot 57.1% in the second half. Pittsburgh set a season-high with 16 made three-pointers. Blake Hinson set a school-record 9 three-pointers and scored a career-high 29 points. Freshman Carlton Carrington had 16 points, nine assists, and four rebounds. Guillermo Diaz Graham added 15 points. For West Virginia, Quinn Slazinski had 22 points and six rebounds. Jesse Edwards added 20 points and nine rebounds.
