According to Tariq Sbiet, a Canadian national scout for North Pole Hoops, the Duke Blue Devils are now actively recruiting 2014 6’11” Canadian power forward/center Miroslav Jaksic out of Walled Lake Western (Michigan).
Jaksic is a highly skilled lefty with a solid inside-out game. With range extending out to the three-point line, he is capable of scoring from the outside like a guard. Inside he displays good footwork with an advanced skill-set of post moves. The main thing Jaksic needs to add is weight as he hovers around 200 pounds even.
Originally a member of the class of 2014, Jaksic came to the United States from Canada as a 2013 graduate a year ago. His current plans are to graduate from Walled Lake Western after this year and then enroll in one year at a prep school that remains undecided. Jaksic anticipates that his decision will be a positive, as he will continue to improve his overall game and let his body fill out.
In a recent pre-season exhibition between Detroit Pershing (Michigan), Jaksic scored 35 points, pulled down eight rebounds and blocked four shots. He was also three-for-four from beyond the three-point line. After an outstanding summer on the AAU circuit, a lot is expected from the rising big man. He has grabbed the attention of a number of high major schools and will be a player to watch in the coming years.
