Last Week: 2-3  Overall: 49-21

Virginia Tech vs. Miami

ESPN must suddenly like putting Miami at home on a Thursday night against a Virginia school. They did this last year, and UVA went down to Miami and beat them. This year, it's the Hokies turn. They both had byes last week, so both teams have had plenty of time to study. Both of these teams are 4-4, and despite that, are both still in the ACC Coastal race. To me, everything rides on Logan Thomas. If he's on, Virginia Tech should win. If he's off, then Miami will win. I'm going to lean towards Logan being on tonight, simply because I don't trust Miami's defense. It'll be a close game. Virginia Tech 28, Miami 24

Virginia vs NC State

Well, the good news for Virginia is they didn't lose last week. That's because they had a much needed bye. But the one thing they didn't want to see was NC State lose to UNC on a heart breaking last second punt return touchdown. It's also homecoming for NC State, and they will be pumped. Virginia's going to run in to a buzz saw this weekend. If I'm a Virginia fan, I'm looking for some improvement in the passing game, and to hopefully cut down on stupid penalties. This is not going be pretty. I expect NC State to win comfortably. NC State 38, Virginia 17

Georgia Tech vs. Maryland

I have a bad feeling about this game. Georgia Tech is struggling, and Maryland is resorting to starting a linebacker at quarterback. Offensively, this game is Tevin Washington versus Stefon Diggs. If Maryland wants to score, they need to find a way to get Diggs the ball. Perhaps a reverse or a hand off from the backfield. Maryland's defense will keep Georgia Tech from scoring a lot. I don't think either team's scoring much. I think the Yellow Jackets will get a win on the road. Georgia Tech 17, Maryland 6

Boston College vs. Wake Forest

Congratulations to Boston College for getting their first conference win last week. They have a shot for a second win here. They played pretty well last week in beating Maryland. Wake Forest was blown out at home by Clemson, and they are still in contention for a bowl. Wake got Michael Campanaro back last week, and he came back with six receptions. I think he could get 10 this week. Boston College is not very good on defense. I think Chase Rettig will keep BC in the game, but Wake will win at home. Wake Forest 24, Boston College 20

Clemson vs. Duke

It's a good thing Duke got that bowl eligibility. They got obliterated last week against Wake Forest, and it won't get a whole lot better this week. The Tigers are averaging 41 points per game, which is 10th in the country. The good news for Duke is that Clemson's defense isn't nearly as good as Florida State. They should get more done on offense, but it still won't be enough. Tajh Boyd and the passing game will shred the Duke defense, and should win pretty handily. Clemson 44, Duke 21
