We're going back through the last few posts and adding some more detail. Number 43 on the list is a transfer from Oregon that will help Boston College a lot this season.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and Boston College head coach Tom Donahue is one of those desperate folks. On that note, the Boston College Eagles welcome incoming transfer Matt Humphrey from Oregon.
On any other year in the ACC, a player with Humphrey’s “talent” would have no business cracking the top-50 in this conference, yet since Boston College is so depleted for players, this guy, thanks to his PAC-10 experience will see plenty of action on the court in 2010-2011.
So who is Matt Humphrey?
Although he has some basketball talent, to say he is inconsistent is an understatement. He’s a two-guard only, not good enough at all to run the point, but not strong enough to handle the wing position. He’s a three-point shooter. That is it. That is all.
So far in his career, two-thirds of his shots have been from deep. He cannot create his own shot, he can’t finish in traffic and he struggles to defend. In fact, he’ll be abused by Austin Rivers. Worst yet, because Boston College will probably also start guards Gabriel Moton and Danny Rubin, Humphrey will be stuck guarding much more athletic small forwards. Harrison Barnes is going to eat him up for lunch.
Outside of Humphrey, only a couple of freshmen, Eddie Odio and Patrick Heckmann could challenge him for the three-spot, but of the two, only Odlo was ranked in the top-100 and that was just #97.
In the end, I think Donahue is stuck starting Humphrey. Here’s hoping consistent playing time and a new system in a new town will help him develop.
