The ACC took 3 losses on Wednesday, two of which you could argue the ACC team should have won. Virginia lost for the 2nd straight game in the San Juan Shootout, in a game that took place less than 24 hours after their loss to Appalachian State. The Cavaliers were beat by Utah 94-70, mainly due to poor defense.
Virginia allowed the Utes to shoot 62% from the floor and 54% from behind the arc and were outrebounded by 15 in the loss. JR Reynolds led the way for Virginia with 25 pts, although Reynolds could have had more, as the senior was limited to 28 minutes of action due to foul trouble. Sean Singletary (11 pts, 5 asts, 2-9 FG) and Mamadi Diane (10 pts) were the only other Cavaliers in double-figures.

NC State hosted #10 Alabama at the RBC Center last night, and battled nicely but still lost to the Crimson Tide 82-75. Sidney Lowe's team was led by Brandon Costner with 25 pts and 5 rebs, while Ben McCauley also chipped in 24 pts and 9 rebs. The Wolfpack were once again without Engin Atsur, although the Pack did have the services of Trevor Ferguson. In his first game, Ferguson, noted for his shooting, finished with 3 pts and 5 asts in 23 minutes of action.
NC State's problem on Wednesday night was on the boards, where the Crimson Tide outrebounded the Pack 43-29.
The final ACC game of the night, was when Miami lost 79-74 to Binghamton. The 'Canes shot just 38% from the floor and 25% from behind the arc, while allowing Binghamton to shoot 57% from the floor.
Miami was led by 17 pts from Denis Clemente and Jack McClinton, while Brian Asbury pitched in 15 pts and 5 rebs, as well.
