OK What’s up Bloggers?

Miami Blogger StateofU puts out some ACC Basketball Power Rankings. While Duke is the only truly elite team, the ACC has some depth to the league that hasn’t been there for quite a few years. At this point in the season the only teams I would say have no chance at the NIT or NCAA tournament are Wake Forest and Boston College. Depending on how the season plays out I could see as many as 6 ACC NCAA tournament teams.

I like the approach Tomahawknation is taking to Florida State’s Orange Bowl opponent Northern Illinois. This isn’t a sure win for FSU as they say. Should the Noles be heavily favored? Yes, Should they win? Yes, Can they overlook NIU, No way… If FSU loses it would be the worst loss of the BCS era.

Are you paying attention to the Virginia Tech Hokies basketball team? This is one of the best early season stories in the ACC after they moved to 7-0 on the young season, and GobblerCountry has the story of their win over 15th ranked Oklahoma St.

I don’t really don’t care for ShakintheSouthland’s pessimistic prospects of Clemson playing LSU in the Chick Fil A Bowl.  Would they have preferred Texas A&M’s high flying offense? How about a Georgia team that was 5 yards from the national title? Maybe Alabama’s massive offensive line or Florida’s wall of a defense would have been more fun. Look its like this… Every time Clemson plays an elite SEC team, they learn more about themselves and where they stand in the college football pecking order. If you happen to win, it’s a validation of the season. If not, you know where to improve.

There are no such thing as moral victories, but sometimes a loss doesn’t leave you sick. Georgia Tech’s FromtheRumble found some positives from the ACCCG especially in the play of the Yellow Jacket defense. The 2nd half was the best the they have played the entire season, and it was good to nice to see the much maligned unit play well.

Wake Forest blogger BloggerSoDear has an interesting discussion with Louisville radio personaility Mark Ennis on the Cardinals addition to the ACC. I’ve been saying they were my first choice all along. I tell you what I can’t wait for future ACC basketball tournaments. The Final 4 should be so good as some of those games will be. Louisville can play a little football too…
