Boston College got 20 pts and 11 rebs from Jared Dudley in their 73-62 win over Maryland, as both teams opened up conference play on Sunday.  While Dudley was the star on the offensive end for the Eagles, Sean Williams was equally a force on the defensive end.  Williams finished with 7 blks to go along with 10 pts and 11 rebs, but came up with several key blocks.  Tyrese Rice (17 pts, 4 asts) and Sean Marshall (12 pts) each added double-figures in the win, also.

For Maryland, James Gist led the way with 17 pts and 10 rebs, but Ekene Ibekwe seemed to disappear.  Ibekwe finished with just 6 pts and 3 rebs, while Bambale Osby came off the bench to outplay him with 10 pts and 9 rebs.

DJ Strawberry got in early foul trouble and finished with 5 pts and 5 rebs, and freshman Greivis Vasquez looked rattled for much of the first half, and finished with 6 pts and 4 tos.

Maryland turned the ball over 16 times and had just 9 asts, and were outrebounded 40-32.

In other ACC play on Sunday, Florida State handled SE Louisiana 88-62.  The 'Noles had control of the game from the tipoff, and cruised to the win.  Jason Rich led the way with 16 pts and 4 rebs in just 23 minutes of action.

Virginia Tech took care of Appalachian State 69-37, behind 19 pts from Zabian Dowdell.  Dowdell made 5-8 shots, including 3-5 from behind the arc, while AD Vassallo and Deron Washington each added 13 pts.

Coleman Collins did play after missing the Hokies' last game with a deep thigh bruise, but only 14 minutes and finished with 6 pts and 4 rebs.  Freshman, Lewis Witcher continues to impress, ending up with 8 pts and 8 rebs.
