The ACC went 3-2 on Tuesday night in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge.

The marquee matchup of the night saw Duke hold off Indiana to win 54-51. The Blue Devils controlled the game for the first 30 minutes, but showed their youth late letting the Hoosiers get back into the game. Duke almost gave the game away missing 3 free throws in the last minute and committing a turnover in the final seconds of the game, giving the Hoosiers a chance to tie the game.
Demarcus Nelson led the way for Duke with 19 pts, 6 rebs while Jon Scheyer was the only double-figure scorer with 10 pts and 4 asts.
The Duke offense sputtered in the second half as they stopped attacking the basket, and started going through several set plays. Josh McRoberts suffered through a poor shooting night once again, making only 2-8 shots on a night where he finished with 7 pts and 7 rebs.
One surprising outcome of the night was Maryland going to Illinois and winning 72-66. The Terps almost squandered a 15 point lead, but held things together behind freshman Greivis Vasquez. Vasquez got a key steal and layup late in the game and finished with 17 pts, while Mike Jones added 19 pts. The Terps were outrebounded 44-29 but shot 50% and held Illinois to just 35% from the floor.
In the absence of Ekene Ibekwe, who missed the game with a sprained ankle, James Gist (11 pts, 7 rebs, 4 blks) and Bambale Osby (10 pts, 8 rebs) each added double-figures.
Georgia Tech almost was upset in Atlanta, as the Yellow Jackets beat Penn State 77-73. Lewis Clinch led the way with 20 pts, while Anthony Morrow had his best game of the year with 15 pts. Both Clinch and Morrow made 4-8 from behind the arc. Javaris Crittenton (14 pts, 5 asts, 4 stls) and Jeremis Smith (12 pts, 8 rebs, 4 stls) eached scored in double-figures as well.
Georgia Tech was playing without freshman star, Thaddeus Young, who was suffering from patellar tendinitis. Also of note is RaSean Dickey who played 13 minutes, turned the ball over 4 times, and did not score.
Florida State went to Wisconsin and did not have enough to win, losing to the Badgers 81-66. Toney Douglas led the way for the Seminoles with 24 pts and 5 rebs, while Al Thornton finished with 10 pts and 5 rebs. Thornton was in foul trouble once again playing only 25 minutes.
Toney Douglas, at the point guard position, finished with just 1 assist against 5 turnovers. As a team, Florida State finished with 21 turnovers.
In the final game of the night, Miami could not win at Northwestern, losing 61-59. The Hurricanes had the ball with a chance to tie or win the game, but Jack McClinton took a quick three from 25 ft, and Northwestern rebounded the miss to end the game. McClinton had an impressive night, finishing with 30 pts on 9-18 shooting and 5-9 from behind the arc. Anthony King finished with 8 pts and 10 rebs, while Brian Asbury added 9 pts and 7 rebs.
