The ACC grabbed 5 more wins including a Maryland Terrapin win over Michigan St to claim the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic.  Maryland won 62-60 over the Spartans of Michigan St, employing a clever, if not dangerous, late game tactic.

The setting is your team is up 3 with your opponent having the ball; do you foul to keep your opponent from shooting a 3 point shot?  Last night in that situation, Mike Jones and the Terps did exactly that.  After a made free throw, Michigan St was forced to miss the 2nd free throw, and although a Spartan got his hand on the ball, Maryland came away with the win.

DJ Strawberry led the way for the Terps with 17 pts and 5 asts, although 11 pts came very early in the game.  Strawberry was 6-7 from the field, while the Terps made 55% of their shots.  Maryland held Michigan St to just 42% shooting from the field.

In other ACC action, Miami beat Evansville 74-69, behind 17 pts from Jack McClinton.  Freshman, Dwayne Collins finished with 14 pts and 8 rebs while Anthony Harris finished with 12 pts, 6 rebs, and 5 asts.  Anthony King had only 6 pts, but finished with a game-high 15 rebounds.

Wake Forest took care of Elon 73-48 on Friday night.  Kyle Visser had his third straight 20+ point night, scoring 20 and adding 12 rebs in just 24 minutes of action.

Clemson beat Appalachian St 79-49 thanks to 24 pts from sophomore, KC Rivers.  Rivers went 9-13 from the field and 6-9 from three point range, and also added 6 rebounds.  Trevor Booker (15 pts, 4 rebs) and Vernon Hamilton (13 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts, 3 stls) were the other two Tigers in double-figures.

Brandon Costner led the Wolfpack with 20 pts and 6 rebs in their 63-43 win over Delaware StGavin Grant (12 pts), Engin Atsur (10 pts), and Courtney Fells (10 pts, 5 rebs) all finished in double-figures as well.  The Wolfpack have yet to play any depth, playing just seven players significant minutes on Friday night.
