The ACC finally had it's first blemish as Boston College was upset at home by Vermont 77-63.  The Eagles turned the ball over 15 times and were outrebounded 48-37 by Vermont.  Jared Dudley led the way with 19 pts and 14 rebs but took only made 6-16 from the field.  As a team the Eagles shot 30% from the floor and 22% from behind the arc.  Freshman, Shamari Spears finished in double-figures once again with 13 pts, while Tyrese Rice finished with 14 pts.  Sean Marshall struggled from the floor shooting 2-11, scoring 8 pts.

In other action, after an early struggle, Duke held off a quick Georgia Southern team to win 72-48.  The Blue Devils got 16 pts from Josh McRoberts (6 rebs, 3 blks, 4 tos) and Demarcus Nelson (10 rebs), while freshmen Gerald Henderson (13 pts) and Jon Scheyer (11 pts, 4 rebs, 4 asts) rounded out those in double-figures.  Brian Zoubek, who had dominated in his first few collegiate games, had a rough night, playing only 8 minutes, grabbing 5 rebounds, and not scoring.

Georgia Tech eclipsed the century mark as they beat Jackson St 100-70.  Six players finished in double-figures, while RaSean Dickey came off the bench to score 15 pts and grab 8 rebounds.  Dickey has been challenged for the 2nd straight season to improve his all-around play.  Freshman, Zach Peacock, who started ahead of Dickey, also played well scoring 14 pts.  Also of note, Javaris Crittenton scored 12 pts and dished out 10 asts in 25 minutes.

FSU won for the second straight night 73-59 over Illinois StAl Thornton led the Seminoles with 20 pts, grabbing 5 rebounds, while turning the ball over 5 times.  Isaiah Swann (14 pts, 4 rebs, 5 tos) and Jason Rich (11 pts, 6 rebs) scored in double-figures, as well.  Toney Douglas is still adjusting to point guard duties as he finished with 7 pts, 5 asts, 5 rebs, and 4 tos.
