Boston College Spain Trip Update

Just like NC State a month ago, Boston College is in Spain taking their international trip.  After two games the Eagles are 1-1, defeating Eurocolegio Casvi 86-77 in their first game an then losing 60-56 to Real Canoe Madrid.

In the opening win over Casvi, Dennis Clifford led Boston College with 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Ryan Anderson added 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Lonnie Jackson sparked the Eagles in the 4th quarter scoring all 11 of his points late in the game.

In the loss, Anderson led the way with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Patrick Heckmann (13 pts) and Danny Rubin (11 pts) also added double-figures.  The Eagles battled foul trouble for most of the game giving Real Canoe Madrid a 31 to 15 advantage in free throw attempts.

Steve Donahue had an unenviable task a season ago taking over a team made up largely of freshmen.  While Boston College took their lumps last season, they came through it with several high moments and certainly could be an interesting team to watch this season.  Certainly, Ryan Anderson has proven he can be top caliber ACC player, but the question is who can step up and be a reliable second scorer?  This trip should go a long way in helping Boston College acclimate their incoming freshmen class and define some roles going into the season.
