Here's more from Patrick Stevens from the Washington Post...

Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown will miss the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament during a noncontact drill Tuesday night.

Brown was the only quarterback on the roster with college experience. True freshmen Perry Hills and Caleb Rowe were his backups.

“I feel terrible for C.J.,” coach Randy Edsall said in a statement. “He’s worked incredibly hard to be the starting quarterback of this team. He’s stepped up and been a tremendous leader. We’ll do everything we can to make sure he gets the best treatment to help in his recovery.”

You know the phrase "kicking a man when he's down", yeah, this is worse than that.  With the mass exodus that has taken place for Maryland football over the past few months, there wasn't much hope for the Terps this season.  Did I mention that mass exodus included Danny O'Brien, who had been the starting quarterback for Maryland?  The one glimmer of hope revolved around CJ Brown, an athletic QB that some hoped would turn into something special.  Unfortunately, that glimmer was put out in a non-contact drill, no less.

Stepping in for Brown will be either Perry Hills or Caleb Rowe, both of which are true freshmen.

So, if you attend Maryland and have ever played QB before, I'd suggest you give Randy Edsall a phone call.
