We keep moving on with our ACC player rankings by looking at the conference’s best cornerbacks. The ACC has one of the country’s best topping the list.

I had to do a little revamping after Greg Reid was dismissed from the Florida State football. team I had him previously at #4

Completed Rankings

Running Backs | Quarterbacks |

Wide Receivers | Tight Ends |

Offensive Linemen |

Defensive Linemen | Linebackers

1) David Amerson, North Carolina State

David Amerson is a consensus All-American at cornerback, and arguably the nation’s best cornerback. He had whopping 13 interceptions last year, but I wouldn’t expect that this year. Frankly nobody is going to throw in the direction of this future first round NFL pick. At 6-3 194 lbs, he has the size NFL scout covet.

2) Kyle Fuller, Virginia Tech

Here’s the guy that was voted the pre-season All-ACC opposite of Amerson. Fuller is a talented and versatile defensive back. Bud Foster felt Fuller was the Hokies defensive MVP last year. He had 64 tackles, and even played a little of linebacker in 2012.

3) Xavier Rhodes, Florida State

I’ve always like CBs with size, and Xavier Rhodes comes is at 6-2 210 lbs. Rhodes was named to the Jim Thorpe pre-season watch list and just missed the pre-season All-ACC team. He’s projected as a 2nd-3rd NFL pick, and with a strong junior season, he could work himself into the first round.

4) Rod Sweeting, Georgia Tech

Rod Sweeting was a 4 star prospect for Georgia Tech in 2009. He’s starting to live up to the advanced billing. An experienced CB, he’s started 39 games. Last season he had 3 interceptions and was named Honorable  Mention All-ACC. You’ll find him on many folks top 10 senior DB’s for 2012.

5) Merrill Noel, Wake Forest

Here’s a name you might not be that familiar with, but RS-Sophomore DB Merrill Noel is a good one. He was the ACC’s freshman defensive player of the year and made several freshman All-American lists. I tend to give the edge to more experienced players, but don’t be surprised if Noel one day is the top 2 of this list.
