While their rivals in Durham and Chapel Hill are focusing on the NC Pro-Am, the NC State roster will be playing basketball in Spain.  NC State will have 10 days of practice (which started yesterday) to prepare for their trip to Spain which will take place August 5-15.  One of the main focuses of such an international trip is to prepare incoming players.  With NC State's highly touted freshmen class, the trip couldn't have come at a better time.  Here's more from NC State coach Mark Gottfried from GoPack.com...

“Obviously, it’s July and we’re not anywhere near where I hope to be at later,” Gottfried said, “but there are some encouraging things. The veteran players have a year under their belt and you can tell. They understand our offense and our terminology.”

...

“I think [our freshmen] are picking things up pretty quickly,” Gottfried said. “We’re throwing a lot at them. They aren’t going to learn it all in a day or a week, but that’s the advantage of having a summer tour is that they get to practice it and they get the games.”

NC State will play 5 games against club and pro teams while on their trip.
