The annual school color scrimmages have begun to take place, and here are a few that we've heard of:
NC State Red/White: Sophomore Courtney Fells shined scoring 21 points on 7-10 shooting and 2-3 from behind the arc, while senior point guard Engin Atsur sat out with a sore achilles heel. Atsur shouldn't miss any games, but Lowe wanted him to sit out for precautionary reasons. Others playing well included Ben McCauley (20 pts, 6 rebs), Gavin Grant (15 pts, 9 asts, 8 rebs) and freshman, Dennis Horner (11 pts, 8 rebs).
Duke Blue/White: Freshman Brian Zoubek dominated, scoring 27 pts and adding 10 rebs on 11-15 shooting. Zoubek, a 7 footer with good footwork, is perhaps the lowest ranked of the heralded 4 man class that Mike Krzyzewski brought in this season. Lance Thomas (15 pts) and Gerald Henderson (14 pts, 4 rebs), both freshmen, rounded out the top 3 scorers in the game. Preseason All-American, Josh McRoberts finished with a solid line, 11 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts, and 4 stls.
Clemson Orange/White: James Mays returned to the court, after sitting out the second half of last season, to score 21 pts and add 12 rebs. Junior Cliff Hammonds dropped in 25 pts on 9-13 shooting and added 6 rebs and 5 asts. Other notables include KC Rivers (20 pts, 6 asts), Vernon Hamilton (24 pts, 3 stls), and freshman, Trevor Booker (15 pts, 7 rebs).
