According to Alex Kline (@Therecruitscoop), 2013 SG Miles Overton from Philadelphia is at Wake Forest today for an unofficial visit. Wake Forest has offered already, and now Miles is down here to check out the campus and allow both sides to communicate with each other about the future.

Overton is listed as a 3* by ESPN.com and in addition to Wake Forest, currently holds offers from La Salle, Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph's and Temple.

Miles Overton has a 6'4, 200 pound frame that has a knack for knocking down the deep ball. His size gives him the ability to drive in to the lane and absorb contact from bigger players as well, which is a big plus for a guard these days.

He is the son of former La Salle great and NBA player Doug Overton, but unlike his dad is not just a point guard. Miles can handle the rock well and shoot it, which gives him versatility as a combo-guard.

He averaged 14.9 points as a junior for Saint Joseph's Prep last year in Philadelphia.

In a recent article, Miles said that he wants to commit before his senior season so he can focus on the basketball aspect. Wake Forest is the biggest name college that has offered him so far, but he loves the city of Philadelphia and would like to stay close to home if at all possible.

If Miles Overton were to commit today (or in the next little bit) to Wake Forest, he would join Greg McClinton in the 2013 recruiting class.

Right now, the staff is currently tied up in recruiting Davon Reed and Kam Williams as well, both shooting guards that are higher rated than Overton.

While it would be great to go ahead and land a shooting guard for the upcoming class, with limited scholarships already, I am weary of how his commitment would hinder our ability to land one of Reed or Williams.

That is in no way a detriment to Overton or his game, just looking at the overall picture as well as the short-term picture.
