Well you aren't supposed to believe everything you read, and that applies to random tweets on Twitter, but if I were to believe one source it seems Rodney Hood is leaning toward Duke.  According to Bob Baptist the Ohio State Men's Basketball beat writer for the Columbus Dispatch Hood is leaning toward becoming a Blue Devil.

From his Twitter handle @bbaptist he tweeted "Instincts tell me Duke. And I think he'd planned to leave Miss St before his coach got fired."

Now there was not much elaboration on why Baptist feels the way he feels and I certainly don't know the man to know how strong and accurate his instincts are but it is a reliable source and something worth keeping an eye on.

Hood, the Mississippi State transfer, who has yet to visit Duke, reportedly down to Ohio State, and Ohio State is said to be set to visit Memphis as well. He was initially interested in Duke during his early recruitment in 2009 but the Blue Devils never offered.

Things appear much different this time around as Duke has shown an interest in the athletic 6-foot-8 guard and if rumors are to be believed he is perhaps leaning toward becoming a Blue Devil.

Still no decision has been made and if you've followed recruiting enough you learn not to buy too much into rumors until actual decisions have been made.

Hood is getting some buzz especially since the Sporting News' Mike DeCourcy is predicting that Hood could in fact become one of the best players in the country following his year off after he sits out next season.

As a freshman he averaged 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists for Miss. St. He certainly could help Duke in practice next season and if he is as good as DeCourcy is suggesting he is likely to be a big contributor in 2013.

Stay tuned to the Duke Sports Blog for more news on Hood and his impending decision.
