Fans Wait For Amile Jefferson will end Tuesday

By now most of you have probably heard that Duke and NC State''s remaining target for the recruiting class of 2012 is set to announce his decision.

Early this week Amile Jefferson's high school coach said that he felt that Jefferson would announce by Wednesday of this coming week and on Saturday Adam Zagoria reported on his blog that Jefferson will announce his decision at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jefferson is down to Duke, Kentucky, NC State and Villanova. The 6-foot-8 inch forward out of Philadelphia's Friends Central High School has been contemplating his decision for several months now.

Duke had gotten into his recruitment early then backed off. But within the last several months they have been going hard after him, especially with the need for depth in the front court next season.

Jefferson who has said he likes Duke, its coaches, is also very high on the academic reputation Duke provides and that might be a deciding factor.

Kentucky has also been going hard at Jefferson, especially since they just lost out on Anthony Bennett. Rivals.com's Alex Kline just recently wrote that he felt that Jefferson might be cooling on the Wildcats, but that at this point it really is not easy to predict what he will do.

Well we all will no longer have to wait much longer as Tuesday will be here before we know it and so will his decision.

I have said that I didn't think Jefferson would come to Duke, just because the Blue Devils haven't had much luck on the recruiting trail this year. However, there is playing time to be had in Durham and he would be learning from the greatest coach in the game.

Still each school has its own appeal and I can't fault him for choosing any of them. And I won't be terribly upset, unless he turns his announcement into a 45 minute love-me fest like another former Duke target recently did before committing to UCLA.

Be sure to stay tuned to the Duke Sports Blog for news on the official announcement when it comes.
