Vince Williams broke his leg and will be out 4-6 weeks. The injury was ill-timed as Williams and Smith looked to battle for the started MLB position this spring. While Smith may get a leg up, Williams is an experienced senior who played well in 2011, and will be rotating with Smith all off season, and potentially through the 2012 season.

Kelvin Benjamin will be one of the most intriguing players to watch this spring, and certainly will have an opportunity to battle for playing time this coming season. Benjamin has looked good in spring practice, but there are still a few questions surrounding the freakish sized receiver and Seminole fans will see how far he has come in his development since his arrival on campus.

James Wilder Jr. was finally reinstated to the Florida State football team after all the charges were dropped, after his incident with the law. Wilder needs every repetition he can get, and immediately boosts the running back core. With the Seminoles already being limited at depth with the running backs, Wilder will be a nice addition for the spring game.

The back-up quarterback battle has heated up as both Coker and Trickett have been splitting reps so far this spring, and April 14th will tell a good bit about both quarterbacks. Coker has a much higher ceiling to be a big time quarterback with his athletic tools (6’5 240) and is looking to prove his knowledge of the playbook. His fist action will come this Saturday, and this is the offensive battle fans should really key in on, with how big the back-up position has been the last 3 seasons.

Cornellius "Tank" Carradine has been one of the more underrated players on the Seminoles depth chart, due to his role behind Bjeorn Werner and Brandon Jenkins, two future potential first-round picks. With Werner out this spring, and the limited depth at DE, Carradine is looking to have a big spring, and 2012 season. Carradine is extremely talented and obtains all the athletic and physical tools needed to be a big time player on this defense. The senior is going to be counted on heavily this spring, and is looking to further impress.
