NCAA Tournament

NC State and UNC kept the ACC undefeated in the NCAA tournament by winning on Friday night.

The Wolfpack took on the California Golden Bears, beating them 58-52.  Cam Bennerman led the way for the Pack with 18 pts, including a clutch 3 pointer with 32 seconds remaining.  NC State will move on to face #2 seed Texas, who struggled to take care of Penn.

For the Heels, Murray State gave them all they could handle, before winning 69-65.  Tyler Hansbrough was perhaps the only Heel that showed up, scoring 24 pts and adding 9 rebounds.  UNC will move on to face George Mason, who beat Michigan State.

Today, Duke takes on George Washington (1:10), a team that is extremely athletic and who will crash the boards.  The Blue Devils will have a tough time of it today unless they pick up the intensity of their defense and force turnovers to make up for their lack of rebounding.

Boston College plays Montana (5:40) and should be able to take care of the #12 seed if they play their game and get easy baskets through their halfcourt offense.

NIT

In the Not Important Tournament, FSU beat Butler 67-63, thanks to two baskets by Alexander Johnson in the last minute.
