Let the Madness Begin

Last night Wake Forest lost 73-58 to Minnesota, Clemson beat Louisiana Tech 69-53, and Miami beat Oklahoma State 62-59, while at the same time Duke and Boston College were mentally getting prepared for their NCAA openers.

The Blue Devils take on a historically black university, in Southern, while Boston College takes on Pacific.

The focus for Duke today is most likely to get off to a good start and hopefully be able to save the legs of their starters for a tough game on Saturday.  The Blue Devils will face either UNCW or George Washington at 1:10 on Saturday, and both teams are the Blue Devils will need their legs to win that game.

It seems as though a lot of people are jumping on the BC bandwagon with their play in the ACC tournament against Duke, UNC, and Maryland.

The problem with BC is their lack of backcourt play, and while Louis Hinnant is a solid player, he isn't a playmaker.  For the Eagles to make a run in the tournament, freshman Tyrese Rice must step up his play.  Just the other day, I picked the Eagles to go to the final four, but they are just as likely to fall in the tournament opener today.

Watch the Eagles, as they will either lose their opener or make a run to the final four.
