Three strikes and your out, because it is nearly baseball season after all. A week after Rice was involved in an incident that led to a criminal charge against him, Rice has been dismissed from the Georgia Tech basketball team.

”There are certain standards that have to be met both on and off the court, and there has to be accountability when those standards aren’t met,” Gregory said in a statement. ”I’m disappointed that we have to take this action.”
The action does not come as a surprise. Rice began the season, Gregory’s first, suspended for the first three games and then finished the season suspended for the final six games. Rice can complete the semester at Tech and may transfer after that. He has one year of eligibility remaining, but would have to sit out a year if he were to transfer to another Division I school.
