Today, we start our Game Sim predictions with the South and West regions. Tomorrow, I'll post the East and Midwest regions and on Wednesday, I'll post the final four results.
South Region
Notes
- No surprise to see Kentucky coming out of this region. That said, Kentucky had a challenge with Connecticut in the second round.
- Duke makes it to the sweet 16 before losing to Baylor, but neither of Duke's first 2 games were cakewalks. Yes, Game Sim is predicting a tough game against Lehigh.
- No upsets in opening round games.
West Region
Notes
- There is a surprise for you, New Mexico the winner in the West region. To those surprised, New Mexico is #13 in Ken Pomeroy's ratings, so its not completely out of left field.
- Just like the South, not expecting any opening round upsets.
- Murray State makes a run to the sweet 16 and gives Mizzou a tough game.
- The Memphis/Michigan State second round game was really close and I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset there.
