Thoughts/Predictions for Tuesday

Tonight, the woeful Wake Forest Demon Deacons go to Chestnut Hill and take on a Boston College team that has their eyes on a 2nd seed in the ACC tournament. As it stands, if games go as they should there is a very real chance that UNC, NC State, and BC could all finish 11-5 in the conference. For that to happen, BC needs to take care of their final 2 home games.

For Wake Forest, it is one of the last few times to see Eric Williams and Justin Gray, two guys that have an interesting legacy. Gray is seen as a scorer, one that borders on being selfish, but also has streaky side and can be cool under pressure, even icy at times.

For Eric Williams it is all about the potential that was never consistently fulfilled. Williams can put up 25 pts/15 rebs in a game, and has done so several times, including several big games. One that stands out is the double OT game in Chapel Hill 2 years ago, where Williams practically carried Wake Forest. The problem with Williams is that his desire to achieve greatness was never there, and therefore his career at Wake will never be what it could have been.

Tonight, Williams and Gray will take on BC, who found an emerging star in center, Sean Williams. If BC can get a defensive presence down low, it will certainly help this team out in tournament time. On the offensive side, BC gets a number of easy baskets in their compact modified flex offense, and Wake just doesn't play enough defense to stop BC.

Predictions

BC over Wake Forest by 9
