There were 5 games this weekend, 4 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday, here are some bullet points that sum up the action this weekend:
- Georgia Tech beat Wake Forest to stay out of the cellar in the ACC as freshman Lewis Clinch scored 20 pts and showed his wonderful potential.
- NCAA hopeful, Virginia, was demolished at Clemson, losing by 26. The Cavaliers turned the ball over 28 times in the loss.
- It took 2 overtimes, but Boston College won at NC State by 2. The most impressive part of the BC win was sophomore Sean Williams, who had a breakout game with 7 pts, 7 rebs, and 8 blocks.
- Just like Virginia, Florida State needed a win for a shot at the NCAA tourney, but lost at Virginia Tech 72-61. The Noles play Duke at home and at Miami to finish off the conference schedule. FSU needs both to have a shot at the NCAA tournament, unless they make a run in the ACC tourney.
- Duke went outside of the conference on Saturday to play at Temple. This game saw JJ Redick break the ACC scoring record, but only score 11 pts, his low for the season. Keep an eye on Redick's play as the past two games have certainly seem him struggle. The Box and 1 Zone was effective to an extent against Duke by Temple.
- Yesterday, the Heels continued their wonderful play beating Maryland 81-57. The Heels held the Terps to 28% shooting from the field and were led by freshman Tyler Hansbrough once again with 21 pts and 7 rebs.
