Two more adventures in patience and self-control for fans of ACC teams last night, and I've got a feeling we'll have a few more games like that this year. In the early game, Maryland jumped out to a big lead only to see Wake Forest claw their way back into it. It's not the first time Maryland has squandered a lead this season, but the Terps did hold on to defeat Wake Forest on Wednesday night.
In the 9 PM game, Georgia Tech showed their outing against Duke wasn't a fluke by absolutely outplaying NC State. Everything seemed to go the Yellow Jackets way, shooting over 60% from 3, getting CJ Leslie and Richard Howell in foul trouble, Scott Wood couldn't make jumpshots, and Georgia Tech found a scoring balance that made them tough to stop. Glen Rice Jr played exceptionally for the second straight game and may have turned a corner. Rice has always showed moments of brilliance, but consistency has escaped him thus far in his career. For NC State, it would be easy to chalk this one up as "not our night", but we did get a glimpse of what NC State looks like when their bench gets extended minutes and it wasn't pretty.
On Thursday night, we have Clemson going to Boston College at 7 and Virginia visiting Duke at 9. Check out our game preview links below.
