Happy New Year from all of us at SCACCHoops!!! We’re in the giving mood and we’re all about good karma!! To start your 2012 off right, we have some recommendations for college sports accounts that you should follow (admittedly, I like the ACC but there are other accounts with a nationwide focus). Yesterday, we gave you 100 Twitter accounts from the blogging world.. The second set comes from the mainstream media world.  Keep in mind that the twitter accounts are listed in NO PARTICULAR ORDER. We are covering college football, basketball, and hockey here. Let’s finish up @HokieGuru’s Twitter 200 for 2012!!

40.@MattJonesCBB – Matt Jones has blogged at several places on college basketball. Right now, I believe he’s at CBSSports.com.

45.@d1scourse – Patrick Stevens is the Washington Times college sports reporter. He covers Maryland football in the fall and the DMV men’s basketball teams in the winter. He is your go to Twitter account for the world of college lacrosse. If you’re not following him on Twitter, you need to.

46.@washpostlive – Ivan Carter, from the Twin Cities, is the host of Washington Post Live on Comcast SportsNet Washington. It’s an interactive show that talks about the colleges in the Washington, DC area, on occasion.

47.@DrSaturday – Matt Hinton runs Dr. Saturday, Yahoo’s national college football blog. Always superb content.

48.@JayBilas – Jay Bilas is national college basketball analyst for ESPN. You’ll find him performing analysis on College Gameday (for basketball) and broadcasting in several arenas.

49.@jdubs88 – John Walters of The Daily was the originator of the College Football Twitter 200 when he worked at AOL’s Fan House. I’ve taken my spin on this and split it for college football and men’s basketball.
