NC State/Clemson Box Score
Notes: NC State and Clemson started off a crazy day of basketball in the ACC with a double overtime win for the Pack 94-85. At the end of regulation, Cam Bennerman hit a 3 with just seconds remaining, while Vernon Hamilton had a chance to win then and at the end of first overtime but failed to get off a solid shot in either case. The Wolfpack were led by Ilian Evtimov who finished with 22 pts and 10 rebs, in perhaps his best game of the season. The Wolfpack won this one despite 21 turnovers, and a subpar performance from Cedric Simmons, who ended up finishing with 12 pts, 10 rebs, and 4 asts, with most of it coming in two overtimes.
For Clemson, free throw shooting came back to haunt them once again. The Tigers finished the game 21-37 (57%) from the charity stripe. Shawan Robinson came off the bench to have 22 pts, 7 rebs, and 6 asts while Vernon Hamilton had 15 pts, 4 rebs, and 5 asts.
Miami/FSU Box Score
Notes: Thanks to a 2-3 zone, Miami held down the high-speed FSU offense in an overtime win, 84-78. The Noles' Alexander Johnson sent the game to overtime with an inbounds alley-oop to tie the game with just over a second remaining. Miami's "Leathal Weapon 3" led the way once again, as Robert Hite finished with 31 pts and 8 rebs, while Guillermo Diaz had 24 pts, 6 rebs, and 4 asts and Anthony Harris had 13 pts and 7 rebs.
Florida State's Al Thornton disappeared against the 2-3 zone, scoring zero points in the first 25 minutes of the game, and was benched by Leonard Hamilton for the remainder of the game. The Noles were led by 20 pts from sharpshooter, Jason Rich, and 17 pts and 10 rebs from Alexander Johnson.
Georgia Tech/Boston College Box Score
Notes: Boston College won their 4th straight conference game, after dropping their first 3, and beat Georgia Tech 66-64 on Sunday. Craig Smith led the way with 25 pts and 13 rebs, despite only scoring 6 pts in the first. Smith scored the first 9 points of the second half for the Eagles. Boston College may have won this game from the free throw line where they shot 81%, and made 14-16 down the stretch when Georgia Tech was hoping to have a chance.
For the Yellow Jackets, RaSean Dickey led the way with 18 pts, while Lewis Clinch came off the bench to score 16 pts. Georgia Tech's leading scorer coming into the game, Anthony Morrow, was held to only 5 pts.
