Thoughts/Prediction on Thursday Night

Tonight, there is a matchup of Duke/Virginia Tech in which the first game ended in a Sean Dockery 40 footer that you've probably seen a dozen times by now.  While both teams enter the game banged up, this game represents a chance for each to turn their seasons in the right direction.

For Duke, it represents a chance to bounce back after the Georgetown loss this weekend.  Similar to the Hoyas, Virginia Tech has some long, athletic players that like to get into the lane.  It will be interesting to see how the Blue Devils adjust to stop the dribble penetration that killed them in the first matchup.  Most likely, Duke will back off the ball pressure slightly and allow Virginia Tech a little more room behind the arc where the Hokies are last in ACC play in field goals made with 18 in 5 games.

For Virginia Tech, this game gives the Hokies an attempt at turning their season around by beating a top 5 team.  More importantly, it gives the Hokies a chance for justification to ammend for a heartbreaking loss that they had in Cameron.
