Maryland guard, Chris McCray, has been declared ineligible for the remainder of the season. This is a huge loss for Maryland as McCray was the Terps leading scorer at 15.2 ppg. The player most likely to benefit from the loss of McCray is junior Mike Jones.
Jones came in a heralded player but has had his natural position of shooting guard blocked by McCray since being at Maryland. Jones is averaging 7.8 ppg in less than 20 minutes of action a game. Sterling Ledbetter is likely to see a few more minutes as well with Strawberry shifting to shooting guard in those minutes.
