Clemson/Georgia Tech Box Score
Notes: Georgia Tech jumped out to an early lead in the first half, but couldn't hang on thanks to 27 turnovers, which led to the 73-63 home loss. The Clemson Tigers on the other hand took care of the ball on the road with only 11 turnovers and got a career game from freshman Julius Powell, with 16 pts and 4-6 from behind the arc. Also critical to the Tiger's success was Akin Akingbala with a season high 19 pts.
For the Yellow Jackets, Anthony Morrow led the way with 16 pts, but only 2 in the second half, while Jeremis Smith (10 pts, 12 rebs) and RaSean Dickey (10 pts, 13 rebs) both posted double doubles.
Wake Forest/NC State Box Score
Notes: Wake Forest jumped out to a double digit lead, before NC State roared back to win 92-82. The Wolfpack got 26 pts from Cam Bennerman who used his strength and athleticism in the post for the Pack and got a majority of his points at the free throw line where he went 12-12. Engin Atsur also was critical for the Pack as he finished with 18 pts, 4 rebs, 3 asts and most importantly zero turnovers.
Eric Williams led the way for the Demon Deacons with 19 pts and 8 rebs, and Michael Drum came off the bench to finish with 18 pts. Justin Gray finished with 14 pts, but on 5-22 shooting.
Virginia Tech/Maryland Box Score
Notes: Maryland got a big performance from Nik Caner-Medley to lead the way to a 81-72 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday night. Caner-Medley finished with 23 pts and 8 rebs on 9-14 shooting while Chris McCray also went for 20+ with 21 pts. The Terps may have won the game on the offensive boards with 12 boards, with Caner-Medley leading the way with three.
The Hokies were led by Zabian Dowdell, with 21 pts, 4 rebs, and 6 asts and Coleman Collins, with 18 pts and 6 rebs. The Hokies point guard, Jamon Gordon was in foul trouble for most of the game, finishing with only 9 pts and playing only 14 minutes.
Boston College/Miami Box Score
Notes: Boston College got an important ACC road win winning at Miami 65-61. Craig Smith was dominant once again with 18 pts and 14 rebs while Jared Dudley also made an impact with 15 pts, 5 rebs, and 4 asts. Boston College held Miami to 35% shooting and outrebounded the Canes 35-28.
For Miami, Guillermo Diaz (18 pts, 5 asts) and Robert Hite (22 pts, 7 rebs) had nice games once again, but the third member of the guard trio, Anthony Harris struggled scoring his first points with a 3 pointer in the last seconds of the game. Harris finished 1-9 for the game and also had 5 turnovers.
