This weekend has 5 games in ACC conference play, and one non-conference game with Duke going to the MCI Center in DC to play Georgetown. Here are some thoughts on the ACC games, followed by the Webmaster's picks:
Saturday
- Clemson at Georgia Tech Noon RSN - Clemson is coming off a really bad road loss (losing by 24 at Miami), and Georgia Tech is trying to bounce back after a loss at Wake. The Yellow Jackets have the perimeter defense to match the Clemson guards, and have a frontcourt that surpasses Clemson's.
- Wake Forest at NC State 4 PM RJ - NC State is bouncing back after the Duke loss, while Wake just played their best game of the season. NC State will need to focus at the task at hand, because Wake Forest will be taking their best shot at beating the top 25 Wolfpack.
- Virginia Tech at Maryland 8 PM RJ Split - The Terps and Virginia Tech match up extremely well, with Maryland having slightly more depth. This is definitely a tempo game, where Maryland wants the faster tempo and the Hokies want the slower game.
- Boston College at Miami 8 PM RJ Split - Can Miami keep up their recent play? Boston College is looking for their 2nd straight conference win, and they have a good chance at beating Miami if they can stop the 3 guard trio of Harris, Hite, and Diaz
Sunday
- North Carolina at FSU 6:30 PM FSN - After two consecutive ACC losses the Tarheels go to FSU to play a very athletic Seminole team. Florida State needs to take care of their homecourt and they will have a very real shot at an NCAA bid.
Predictions
- Georgia Tech over Clemson by 8
- Wake Forest over NC State by 2
- Virginia Tech over Maryland by 4
- Boston College over Miami by 7
- FSU over UNC by 3
