Duke/NC State Box Score
Notes: Duke got their best match of the season, as NC State came to Cameron Indoor Stadium and gave the Blue Devils all they could handle, before Duke made free throws late to win 81-68. Duke was led by JJ Redick once again as he finished with 28 pts and 6 asts, while Shelden Williams also went for 20+ with 21 pts, 9 rebs, 5 stls, and 4 blks.
For the Wolfpack, there were just too many turnovers, which ultimately means giving the Duke's efficient offense too many chances to score. Cedric Simmons dominated in the post for the Pack going for a career high 28 pts to go along with 9 rebs and 7 blks. Only Gavin Grant seemed to be under control on the offensive end as he finished with his best game in quite some time with 13 pts and 7 rebs.
Miami/Clemson Box Score
Notes: Miami continued their hot play of late by demolishing Clemson 62-38 on Wednesday night. While Miami only led by 6 at half, the Canes opened the game up early in the 2nd half, and did so without one player scoring more than 12 pts, which Guillermo Diaz accomplished. Anthony King (11 pts, 6 rebs), Robert Hite (11 pts), and Denis Clemente (10 pts) also managed to score in double figures.
For Clemson, it was a night to forget. The Tigers turned the ball over 16 times and only shot 25% from the field, 14% from behind the arc, and 36% from the charity stripe. No one scored in double figures, only Akin Akingbala played even decent finishing with 7 pts and 9 rebs.
Georgia Tech/Wake Forest Box Score
Notes: Wake Forest took out some of the frustration of their recent conference play on Georgia Tech, ultimately beating the Yellow Jackets 86-71. Justin Gray had his 2nd straight monster game going for 25 pts, 4 rebs, and 5 asts while Eric Williams finished with 21 pts and 11 rebs. The key for the Demon Deacons wasn't their two stars, but the supporting players who played well in Trent Strickland (14 pts, 7 rebs) and Harvey Hale (16 pts, 4 asts). Hale and Chris Ellis were inserted into the starting lineup for the game, replacing Kyle Visser and Shamaine Dukes.
Georgia Tech, despite their poor play in the first half, didn't give up, which is a sign of a Paul Hewitt team. The Yellow Jackets were led by 29 pts from Anthony Morrow who scored 24 of his points in the 2nd half. Also contributing was freshman Lewis Clinch, who had his best game in quite some time finishing with 14 pts, 4 rebs, and 4 asts.
