A tale of two dunks: David Noel vs Trent Strickland

In 2 ACC games this weekend, we had two Dunks that provided two totally opposite results, here are two games I'm referring to:
  • On Saturday, David Noel of UNC, with his team trailing early to NC State got a breakaway windmill dunk. After the dunk, UNC proceeded to play their best basketball of the game, fueled by the emotion of the crowd.
  • On Sunday evening, with Wake Forest trailing by 5 and starting to come back, Trent Strickland also had a breakaway dunk in which he chose a reverse double clutch dunk, but missed. On the ensuing Duke possession, JJ Redick hit a 3 to put Duke up by 8. Duke never looked back at that point, going on to win easily.
Two Dunks, similar situations, yet totally different outcomes. So, which is it? Was Strickland being too much of a hotdog? Was Noel just trying to pump up his team and the crowd?

Personally, I'm all for the highlight dunks, but it is all about the proper time and situation. Its probably fair to say, that neither Noel or Strickland should have "hot dogged" it in their respective game situations. For Noel, a simple power dunk, as he is accustomed to would've provided the same spark to his team, without the chance of "Trenting" his team as I will now call it. So, what do you think? Check out the poll and vote, and make a comment and let everyone know what you think.
