SCACCHOOPS.COM - Important Note for Commissioners

Commissioners, with January 10th rapidly approaching, which is the first day that the Change Roster link will be made available you should double-check the settings that you have setup for your league. In the Commish section on the left side menu, look for the League Rules link. On this page, you will see two checkboxes that will help set the rules for roster changes in your league.

If you are not a commissioner in your league, look at the rules page for your league and check out #9 to find out how roster changes are handled in your league.

The first link will disallow roster changes by owners without commissioner priveleges, making the commish enter all roster changes. This is good for leagues that get together at one time to make trades and drop/add players. The second link on the page, if checked, will allow a waiver system to manage free agent pickups. In the Waiver System, players may be selected, and daily the waiver process will run, allocating the player to the owner who is first in the Waiver Order. The Waiver Order is determined by using the league standings in reverse order, therefore giving the last team the first chance to improve their team. Once a team has made a change to their roster, they then move to the end of the Waiver Order.

If the Waiver System is not used, free agents will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
