ACC Conference Play Back Tonight!

ACC conference play picks up again tonight as Clemson hosts FSU at 7. Unfortunately, there will be no TV for the game, a fact that is less and less true with ACC games, but true nonetheless. This game will pose an FSU team that has routed most of their weaker competition against a Clemson team that came out looking strong early in the season only to lose to Georgia and Elon in their last two games.

In the game, without James Mays, Clemson will have a tough time guarding FSU power forward, Al Thornton. If Thornton can stay out of foul trouble guarding a smaller man, most likely Sam Perry, he will have his way on the offensive end.

For Clemson, this game will be about ball control against Florida State's reckless, aggressive pressure defense. Cliff Hammonds and Vernon Hamilton in particular, will need to combine for less than 5 turnovers for Clemson to have a shot.

Another key area for both teams to watch for is foul trouble for their big man. In particular, Clemson's Akin Akingbala is really a man alone down low, and against FSU's bruising big man, Alexander Johnson, will have a tough time staying foul free. Now onto the prediction, by the way don't forget to make your picks!

FSU by 5 over Clemson
