ACC Highlights from the Weekend

As you may have already realized, the Webmaster has been away from the Internet over the weekend, but despite this, the ACC had quite an interesting weekend. Here are few highlights that you may or may not have missed:
  • NC State got a very good win over George Washington on Friday evening, thanks in large part to holding the Colonials to 30% shooting.
  • As the Webmaster predicted, Clemson had a bad loss to Elon in their final game before the ACC season begins on Wednesday.
  • Guillermo Diaz had a forgettable game against #10 Louisville in which he went 0-10 from the field finishing with zero points.
  • Virginia, like Clemson, also had a bad loss to Western Kentucky tonight, losing 78-68. In the past week, Donte Minter has left the team, and the Cavaliers are going through some rough times. Sean Singletary can't seem to find his role as a playmaker and scorer. In the UVA loss, Singletary made only 5-17 shots.
  • Duke yawned through two wins over UNCG and a very good Bucknell team. Bucknell impressed me quite a bit today with their shooting, their skilled big man McNaughton, and a very athletic player in Lee. Don't be surprised if Bucknell takes out another highly seeded team in the NCAA tournament again this year.
So, the ACC season starts up again Wednesday with FSU at Clemson, and really gets going on Saturday with 4 games.
