Three more days before the Florida State Seminoles meet the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. Call it a meeting of old rivals (Spurrier vs the Noles). Call it a recruiting opportunity for FSU. Call it a chance to shine on the big stage. All Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles want to call it is another win.
The Seminoles technically weren’t supposed to do this well in their first year with a new coaching staff. After all, even the most successful first-year coaches this year topped out at seven wins. Yet Jimbo Fisher has beaten his two in-state rivals, won the Atlantic Division of the ACC, played in an ACC Championship game, and won 9 games so far. There’s only one more item on the to-do list—end the year with his first bowl game win.
Can Jimbo add the cherry on top of an impressive year? This Friday will tell all.
