Duke and UNC are clearly two of the best basketball programs in the country, constantly reeling in top recruits and usually sitting at the top of the ACC and National Standings. However, the two programs have veered off in different directions since November of last year, as Duke won the ACC and National Championships, are currently on a 21 game winning streak, are landing 5-star recruit after 5-star recruit and seemingly can do no wrong. In the same time period, UNC has not received a commitment from a scholarship level recruit, have lost 21 of their last 45 games, and have remained out of the Top 25 except during the preseason.
Knowing all of this, it’s kind of funny to watch the two coaching staffs’ different approaches while recruiting the same player at the recently completed City of Palms Tournament in Fort Myers, Florida.
