College Football Bowl Season Part 2

You thought last week in Part 1 of our Bowl preview we covered some if not all of the bowl games? We are not even close! That was just the first 11, now we are looking at the next 11 games on the bowl schedule with predictions. Remember the bowl games start on Saturday December 18.

This will make game number four East Carolina has played against an ACC opponent this season. Maryland is a well coached team, that had a surprisingly solid season. 49, 76, 42, 62, 45 are the point totals the Pirates gave up in their last 5 games.

Baylor hasn't been to a bowl since 1994. Do you think the Bears will be just a little excited to play one in their home state?

Alamo Bowl
Arizona (7-5) vs. Oklahoma State (10-2) ESPN 9:15 PM

Arizona hasn't won a game since October 30th. Oklahoma State has as much offensive fire power as just about any team in the country. This doesn't look good for the Wildcats.

SMU will air it out all over the field, and Army will employ the ground attack of an option offense. This is  an underrated game that I think will be pretty entertaining.

The Syracuse football program had become one of Division 1 worst the past few years.  Coach Doug Marrone has done a fine job bringing the Cuse back to respectability. Kansas St. has no defense.

Tennessee got to this bowl despite losing 6 of their first 8 games. North Carolina got to this bowl despite losing most of their starting defensive unit. They can call this one the Perseverance Bowl.

Washington (6-6) vs. Nebraska (10-3) ESPN 10 PM

Sun Bowl
Miami (7-5) vs. Notre Dame (7-5) ESPN 2:00 PM

I thought for sure the ACC Tie in to the Sun Bowl would be a one they'd regret, but the game between Miami and Notre Dame is a sell out. Miami lost their head coach Randy Shannon and their last two games. Notre Dame won their final 3. I'm going with the hot team.

Liberty Bowl
UCF (10-3) vs. Georgia (6-6) ESPN 3:30 PM

UCF's coach George O'Leary had alot of success against Georgia when he was at Georgia Tech. The Dawgs have plenty of talent, but haven't played to their potential for much of the season. UGA QB Aaron Murray is a budding star.

Chick Fil A Bowl

Florida State (9-4) vs. South Carolina (9-4) ESPN 7:30 PM

FSU's Jimbo Fisher has had a great first season, and South Carolina's Steve Spurrier coached his best season since his Florida days. Both teams made it to, but lost their conference championship games.

I'll be taking in this game on the 31st in Charlotte. This game will feature the country's best defensive player Clemson's DE Da'quan Bowers. There will be two good defenses playing two bad offenses.

Meineke Car Bowl
Clemson (6-6) vs. South Florida (7-5) ESPN 12 PM

This has the potential to be very ugly. The game these two played earlier in the year was a 56-21 win for the Cornhuskers. I have to believe Washington QB Jake Locker will play better than his 4 for 20 performance in that game.
