We are in the home stretch of the college football season. It just goes to fast doesn't it? There are still conference titles and bowl games to play for. Who plays in the national title is still way up for grabs. As we saw last week, Oregon nearly played their way right out of the running for the national championship.
Last week was pretty darn mediocre for me picking games going just 6-5. I'm looking for improvement this week.

Remember a few years ago when the Fresno St. nearly knocked off a USC team that featured Reggie Bush? Boise St. best not look ahead to their game with Nevada or Pat Hill's Bulldogs will throw a scare into the Broncos.

NC State is playing to take another step to winning the ACC Atlantic Division. Their in-state North Carolina could throw a major wrench in those plans.

Pittsburgh leads the Big East at 3-1 and South Florida is 3-2. Both are among several Big East teams fighting for the right to be worst BCS team in history.

Frank Beamer has Virginia Tech in position to win another ACC Coastal Division title. Miami will be the most athletic team that the Hokies have played all year.

California did what I didn't think was possible and that was shutdown the Oregon offense. California will need another performance like that to have any chance against the Cardinals.

Iowa has had an up and down season, but they are good enough to really give Ohio St. problems. The Buckeyes have rolled over everyone they've played except that one loss to Wisconsin.

Dan Mullen has worked wonders at Mississippi St. This is a solid defensive team, but it's asking alot for the Bulldogs to slow QB Ryan Mallet and the Arkansas offense.

#16 Oklahoma (8-2) at Baylor (7-4) 8:00 ESPN2
This is a very dangerous game for the Sooners. It's Baylor's final home game and final game of the season, so they'll be amped up in Waco. This is the Bear's first legitimate shot at beating Oklahoma in a long time.

Do you realize if Nebraska hadn't lost to the worst Texas team in over a decade, they'd be playing to get into the national title game? Ryan Tannehill hasn't lost a game since taking over as Aggie QB. That includes a win over Oklahoma.

When November rolled around, I expected FSU to be fighting for an ACC Atlantic division title. I did not expect Maryland to be in the same position, but they are. The Terps run comes to an end here.

Someone please explain to me what happened the last two weeks to Utah. I thought they were in the same class as TCU and Boise St. The Utes have been outscored 75-10 in their last two games. San Diego St. played TCU 35 points closer than Utah did.
