Bzdelik’s first accomplishment as Wake’s coach was holding together Gaudio’s promising five-man recruiting class, a development aided by Bzdelik’s early decision to retain Gaudio aides Jeff Battle and Rusty LaRue. The Deacons will need immediate help from the freshmen, because four multi-year starters departed from last season, and the only proven returnees are C.J. Harris and Ari Stewart. There is one talented rookie on hand for each position, but projecting who will be ready to help — and how much, and when — is a guessing game.
