Jordan Williams scored 18 points, Cliff Tucker had 15 points and 10 assists, and Maryland used a 45-7 first-half run to roll past Florida Southern 106-58 in an exhibition game Monday night.
Playing for the first time in four years without star guard Greivis Vasquez, the Terrapins pulled out of a 15-15 tie to take a 60-22 lead with 1:42 left before halftime.
It was the lone exhibition game for Maryland before the season opener against Seattle on Nov. 8 in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
Maryland showed up a more athletic team that played at a quicker pace. The Terrapins had 86 possessions in the win, which was significantly more than 70 possessions per game that they averaged a season ago.
