It was not a great week for me for predictions. I did go 4-3, but lost my first three predictions, before rebounding and hit all four later games. This week brings six games, with two of them being non-conference games.

Boston College vs. NC State
Both teams were on the losing end of their respective games last week, with Boston College dropping to Notre Dame, and NC State falling from the ranks of the unbeaten to Virginia Tech. Boston College’s quarterback situation is a mess. Chase Rettig was the starter last week, but was injured, and Mike Marscovetra took over, and threw two interceptions. It is not yet clear who will start for the Eagles. On the other hand, Russell Wilson looked a little sloppy last week, seemingly trying to do too much for NC State. But he will redeem himself this week going against a BC defense that is on the field too much because of their offense. NC State 31, Boston College 10

Central Michigan vs. Virginia Tech
It appears that Virginia Tech is back to being the Hokies of old. After a 41-30 win over NC State, behind 317 yards rushing, with Darren Evans and Tyrod Taylor rushing for over 100 yards, Virginia Tech took control of the ACC Coastal. They take on a Central Michigan team that has yet to beat an ACC team in five tries. The Chippewas are 2-3, defeating Hampton and Eastern Michigan, and losing to Temple, Northwestern, and Ball State. I think VA Tech will be able to run up and down on the Chippewa defense, and handle them easily. Virginia Tech 42, Central Michigan 13

UVA vs. Georgia Tech
Last week, I put a lot of confidence in UVA. And it was an epic failure, as they were blown out by Florida State. The Cavs couldn’t stop Florida State’s rushing attack, and that could signal doom against the number six rushing attack in the country. Georgia Tech struggled in winning at Wake Forest last week, as Josh Nesbitt threw 21 passes, which is usually about four games worth of passing in one game. But the logic would say that Nesbitt shouldn’t need to throw that many passes this week, and they should be able to run productively on UVA. Georgia Tech 34, UVA 17

Clemson vs. North Carolina
Clemson was another team I had confidence in that let me down. Kyle Parker threw three interceptions, and looked like he hadn’t completely recovered from getting his brains beat in against Auburn.  North Carolina seems to have righted the ship after a 0-2 start, blowing out East Carolina last week. These teams seem to be going in different directions, and I think while it will be a close game, their respective streaks will continue. North Carolina 27, Clemson 20

Navy vs. Wake Forest
This is an interesting game. Navy is not nearly as good as expected, sitting at 2-2 with losses to Maryland and Air Force, and wins over Georgia Southern and Louisiana Tech.  They run the exact same offense that Wake saw last week, and the Deacs did a good job of containing it. And with that game fresh in their memories, and some time to tweak a few things, I can see a nice win for the ACC. Wake Forest 20, Navy 17

Florida State vs. Miami
This is without a doubt the game of the week, and for some reason, what everyone wants to see a rematch of in a couple of months. This matchup occurs at Miami. FSU looked like the best team in the ACC, and Miami had a bit of chore in beating Clemson, as Jacory Harris threw two more interceptions, giving him eight in his last three games, and is currently on pace for 24 interceptions. I think he will throw a couple more picks, and FSU will capitalize, and win a lot easier than most people expect. FSU 31, Miami 21
